We were approached by Alt Management and Universal to design Decca Records’ latest musical package. The concept of the compilation was taking some of the greatest classical and contemporary pieces ever written and have them remixed by current electronic artists and DJ’S.
We looked at the significance and history of the Decca brand and wanted to create something that reflected both the classical and contemporary nature of the music.
We worked with the bold red and blue colours that the labels logo is synonymous for, tearing it apart and rebuilding it, representing the ‘remix’ concept of the album. We kept the overall design and typography somewhat regimented and classic then once the vinyl is opened the viewer is greeted with bold and bright crops of the torn artwork.
